Example: Learn and Master Guitar is a 20 dvd course that comes with jam-a-long cds a 100 pg. Work book and online reference guide and forum for support. This product is meant to be a complete substitute for a private guitar instructor, and it does it quite well.
There is well over a years worth of content if you follow the course schedule, and teaches everything you’d learn at a music conservatory.
If you are someone who likes immediate gratification, this method isn’t going to be appealing to you. The online guitar lessons site WorkShopLive has a ton of great content, but I’m not a huge fan of how their sites ease of use. The price is right, and the content is top quality. I think personally I just prefer popping a dvd in my TV rather then logging onto the Internet to take my guitar lessons.
